A friend & I were discussing recycling in HENRICO COUNTY. I take all recyclables to site #13, adjacent to the fire station on Church Rd, western Henrico, off Lauderdale Drive.
All recycled trash there is mixed in the allotted dumpsters minus certain plastic bags that are not allowed. What & where does Henrico take their weekly dumpster pickups?
Are these deposited in a landfill? Why do we mix and not separate glass, etc?
Maybe a “trashy” article might not only explain but encourage others to follow suit & recycle. Could be pretty timely too & serve as a reminder!FYI- I live in a rental community close to the above location. There are loads of condo type dwellings in my area! We have dumpsters on property but I choose to take advantage of this county service. However, are my efforts in vain and my recyclables just become more trash that’s hauled away??
