Virginia to phase out single-use plastics at state agencies
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam Tuesday signed an executive order aimed at reducing Virginia’s reliance on single-use plastics, which pollute waterways, harm fish and wildlife, and take up space in landfills. The order puts the state on a path to eliminate most single-use plastics at state agencies, colleges, and universities by imposing a near-term ban on several common disposable plastics and requiring the phase out of other items by 2025.
Greenbaum kicks off CACGA season with live performance
The Cultural Arts Center of Glen Allen kicked off its 2021 season with a performance March 21 by Richmond artist Susan Greenbaum, who entertained a socially distanced audience of about 150 spectators with a mix of covers and original songs.
