SOL scores dip statewide and in Henrico, as expected
The 2020-2021 school year was marked by monumental disruption to education, and state testing scores released by the Virginia Department of Education on Thursday reflect that.
Pass rates among Henrico County Public Schools students from 2021 testing were lower than the state average in every test category.
Henrico Schools offering new hiring bonuses for bus drivers
In an effort to alleviate the growing school bus driver shortage, Henrico County Public Schools began offering new hiring bonuses Thursday.
In early June, the school division had 85 vacancies, which was the largest school bus driver shortage in more than a decade.
Now in August, there are more than 100 vacancies.
