Sandston to celebrate centennial anniversary with Labor Day festivities
The Sandston community will come together Sep. 6 to celebrate its 100th anniversary with festivities for all ages, including a select number of Sandston’s original citizens.
“This shows what a community can do when they work together to accomplish something,” said Jimmy Mehfoud, a Sandston resident who was born and raised in the community. “It is just a tremendous celebration.”
New COVID cases in Henrico hit six-month high
COVID-19 cases continued to spike in Henrico this weekend, as the county witnessed the most cases it’s seen on a single day – and during a two-day period – in six months.
Henrico experienced 226 new cases Aug. 14-15 – the most since the same number of cases were reported Feb. 17-18, according to data from the Virginia Department of Health. Henrico reported another 81 confirmed cases Monday.
