Only 2 private wells in Eastern Henrico show elevated PFAS levels
Only two private wells among the 259 tested by Henrico County in recent months for dangerous chemicals known as PFAS returned levels higher than the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s health advisory level of 70 parts per trillion, county officials said Mar. 4.
Twenty-eight wells had some levels of the chemicals between 3 and 34 ppt, but 229 showed no signs of the chemicals at all. The two wells that exceeded the EPA’s advisory level registered readings of 86 ppt and 126 ppt.
Henrico native earns national ‘Backing Black Business’ cash grant
A Henrico native and local business owner is one of more than 200 recipients nationally to earn a $10,000 national Backing Black Business cash grant.
Tequila Canty, owner of The Art Lounge in Midlothian, earned the grant from the Reimagine Main Street project. The grants are designed to fuel the growth aspirations and boost the trajectory of each of the Black-women-led businesses selected to receive them.
