Nine witnesses testify during morning portion of second day of Lakey trial
The second day of the sexual assault trial of Short Pump Middle School teacher Dean Lakey featured testimony from two prosecution witnesses and seven defense witnesses before the mid-day recess after noon.
Lakey, a gym teacher, is accused of assaulting a former student who was 14 at the time and is now 18. (The Citizen is not naming the student because she was a minor at the time.)
