New bivalent COVID-19 booster now available locally
The new bivalent COVID-19 booster shot – designed to protect recipients against multiple variants of COVID-19, including the currently dominant omicron BA.4 and BA.5 variants – is now available at some local physicians’ offices, as well as CVS and Walgreens stores, among other spots. Doses also will be available through the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts beginning Sept. 14.
Sandston Library enhancements to begin Sept. 12
Sandston Branch Library, the oldest location in the county’s public library system, will close Sept. 12 for a renovation project that will last through November.
The “refresh” project will provide more than $327,000 in upgrades, including accessible A-frame shelving to display books facing outward to showcase their covers as well as enhancements to the browsing and wayfinding experience.
