New ACE Center building at Hermitage High opens for Henrico students
Henrico Schools opened its new 85,000-square-foot Advanced Career Education Center building at Hermitage High School on Jan. 8 for students in the Workforce & Career Development program.
The new facility, which sits in front of the old ACE Center building at Hermitage, has a modern concept with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a big forum space with round tables at the entrance of the building that seats 400. Surrounding the forum are classrooms visible to visitors via the large glass windows that show a number of the center’s programs: culinary arts, video and media productions, web design, radio broadcasting, and more. Henrico’s Lemons among honorees at RVA Sports Awards
A former Henrico High School football player who has inspired the community after being paralyzed during a game was among the honorees at the third-annual RVA Sports Awards Feb. 3 in Richmond. The event recognized the region’s sports community and key achievements and was hosted by entrepreneur Kelli Lemon and CBS-6 Sports Director Lane Casadonte. Click here to read more
Apply to join the Citizen Advisory Board
Applications are now open for the Henrico Citizen’s Citizen Advisory Board, a 15-person board that will serve from March 2024-February 2025 and help connect the Citizen with the community. The board also will help identify potential coverage topics and devise ideas to assist with the Citizen’s engagement, coverage and revenue. Apply here by Feb. 21!
