More than 100 COVID cases, 1,000 exposures reported in Henrico Schools last week
The Henrico County Public Schools division reported more than 100 new COVID-19 cases and 1,000 close contacts last week.
Between Monday and Friday of last week, there were 56 cases reported at the elementary level, 26 in middle schools, 26 in high schools and one in the facilities annex.
After arrest of Short Pump MS teacher, Henrico officials seek other sexual assault victims
After the arrest last month of Short Pump Middle School teacher Dean Lakey on sexual assault charges stemming from incidents involving a minor, Henrico officials are asking anyone else who may have a victim of similar incidents involving the teacher to come forward.
“We take very seriously our responsibility to protect our children here in Henrico,” Henrico Police Chief Eric English and Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor said in a joint statement issued Tuesday.
