Make education a priority - donate before midnight
Dear Henrico Citizen reader,
Everyone in Henrico is affected by education in some way – whether you’re a parent of a student (from pre-K through post-graduate), or the owner of a small business seeking qualified employees, or a homeowner whose property value is determined in part by the schools in your region.
Education touches every aspect of life in our county, and that’s why we’ve made it a priority in our coverage for more than 20 years – and in particular this year, when we hired Report for America corps member Anna Bryson as our full-time education reporter.
No one covers Henrico education the way we do – but we need your help to continue doing the important work you’ve come to expect.
In just a few hours, 2021 will be over – but there’s still a chance to make a charitable donation to help support Anna’s work. And, in addition to being tax-deductible, it will be matched dollar for dollar by Report for America, a national journalism service program! (We’re one of just two Virginia news organizations selected to participate in RFA.)
Anna has written 113 articles in seven months since joining us; take a look at some of her top stories of the year here. We’re thrilled to have her as part of our team, helping to keep readers like you informed about what’s happening, through fair, perspective-rich coverage that simply isn’t available anywhere else.
Report for America is matching all donations we receive to support Anna’s work – up to $25,000! We’re less than $1,500 from our goal, but the deadline is tonight! Will you help?
Wishing you a happy and safe new year,
Tom Lappas
