Younger people responsible for majority of new COVID cases in Henrico
Henrico reported 97 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, down from 126 Thursday, and is now averaging 98 new daily cases during the past seven days.
There were no new virus-related deaths or hospitalizations reported in the county Friday, according to Virginia Department of Health data. Twelve Henricoans have been hospitalized by the virus in the past seven days, according to the data.
Child in Henrico or Richmond dies from COVID-19
A child 9 or younger in Henrico or Richmond has died from COVID-19, according to the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts. It’s the second death of a person younger than 20 in the two localities in about a month; a child or teen between the ages of 10 and 19 from Henrico died from the virus last month, according to the Virginia Department of Health.
