Join our community – let's make Henrico even better
Great communities don’t just happen – they result from the efforts of active and engaged citizens. And what prompts citizens to become active and engaged in their communities? Knowledge about those communities, and perspective about their successes, challenges, and opportunities.
In short, great communities occur when citizens care about the place they call home.
But if you don’t know what’s happening in your community – good or bad – how can you effectively participate in the conversation about how to move it forward?
That’s where local journalism comes in. At the Henrico Citizen, we like to think we’re in the community-building business. For more than 21 years, we’ve served as the trusted voice of the county, providing fair, factual coverage of the issues, people, places and events that make Henrico County what it is.
We think that matters – and that it’s helped strengthen the connections that exist (between citizens, government, nonprofits, businesses, schools and other groups) in this community.
But our coverage can’t happen without your support.
We need 500 members of the Citizen Collective, our new membership program, to help ensure that the Citizen can be sustainable in this new digital era.
Will you help us by joining at the $75 or $150 annual membership level? You’ll receive a number of benefits – including the knowledge that you’ve helped make your community a better place and (at the higher level) the chance to designate a local nonprofit to receive free advertising with us.
Yours in community,
