Henrico to receive $320,000 in federal safety action plan funding
Henrico County is receiving $320,000 in federal funding as part of the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program – money that it will use to develop a comprehensive transportation safety action plan. The funding was announced Feb. 1.
Henrico is one of 18 communities in Virginia to earn a share of the $7 million allocated through the competitive grant program to the state. In total, the program (for which localities had to apply and be selected) allocated $800 million to communities nationwide.
Central Virginia housing market slows, prices rise
The Central Virginia housing market is continuing to slow, while price and active listings grow, according to the Richmond Association of Realtors.
At the end of 2022, there were 2,401 active listings in the region – or 1,042 more listings than last year (a 77% jump). Overall inventory levels have been building up for three straight quarters, and this quarter is by far the strongest growth the area has seen in years.
