Henrico Schools’ Manns: Black History Month is not just about celebrating the wins but also the journey
Many figures in Black history often are summed up by just a phrase or title: Martin Luther King Jr. – civil rights leader; Rosa Parks – refused to give up her seat on the bus; Toni Morrison – acclaimed author; Duke Ellington – famous jazz pianist.

‘Catastrophic explosion’ at Virginia home reminds firefighter of 2011 Henrico blast
A “catastrophic explosion” at a Virginia home that killed one firefighter and injured about a dozen people over the weekend may have been caused by a gas leak.
