Henrico ranks second in Virginia in pedestrian fatalities in 2024
Henrico County has witnessed the second-highest total of pedestrian fatalities among all Virginia localities so far in 2024, according to data from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Only Fairfax County’s five pedestrian fatalities surpass the three experienced by Henrico and Prince William counties. Henrico also has witnessed the fifth-highest total of crashes involving pedestrians in the state this year (27) and the fifth-highest total of pedestrian injuries in those crashes (26). Warner, Kaine introduce ‘Virginia Plan to Reduce Gun Violence Act’
On the 17th anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting that killed 32 people, Virginia’s two senators have introduced legislation that aims to reduce gun violence nationally.
The Virginia Plan to Reduce Gun Violence Act would mandate the reporting of lost and stolen firearms, prevent children from accessing guns and implement a one-handgun-a-month policy. Click here to read more

Every article about pedestrian accidents always has suggestions for motorists to be more careful.
It neglects to caution pedestrians to look up from your cell phone before entering the roadway or parking lot. As a result, pedestrians have a sense of entitlement and saunter out in front of cars without looking, practically daring you to hit them. Pedestrians should be reminded to look left, look right, and look left again before stepping out.
