Henrico officials celebrate new Varina HS environmental specialty center
Henrico County Public Schools officials Wednesday celebrated the new Center for Environmental Studies and Sustainability at Varina High School during a grand opening event in partnership with Meta and the Henrico Education Foundation. The new high school specialty center is designed to help students get into the field for hands-on learning about the environment.
Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney Taylor announces re-election plans
Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor will seek a fourth term in office, she announced earlier this week.
Taylor, a Democrat who was first elected in 2011, said she would seek to continue her focus on keeping criminals off the streets and finding help for offenders with substance abuse and mental illness, while also supporting victims and their families and confronting people who promote discrimination and hatred.
