Henrico Community Food Bank, Virginia DSS helping citizens in need
To help Henrico residents struggling to afford basic necessities, the Henrico Community Food Bank plans to scale up its distribution, and the Virginia Department of Social Services is distributing federal funds to cover water bills.
The food bank, which recently celebrated its first year of existence, has served more than 350 families during that time, according to founder and Executive Director Sudeshna Das-Menezes.
I-95 Parham Road entrance, exit ramps to close intermittently beginning Nov. 16
Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation will implement alternating, ramp closures on I-95 south at the Parham Road East Exit (83A) and the Parham Road West Exit (83B) in Henrico County from 10 p.m. Nov. 16 to approximately 6 a.m. Nov. 17 and again from Nov. 20 to Nov. 21.
