Henrico Schools aims for deeper community reach with year-round Community Learning Centers
In recent years, Henrico Schools officials have made more of an effort to open up the county’s public schools to community partners – and to the community itself.
The goal is to shape schools into “community hubs” that serve all sorts of needs for families, according to Robin Rowland, the chief operating officer for the Henrico Education Foundation, a nonprofit that works directly with HCPS to bridge disparities between students. Click here to read more
Glen Allen hosting 13-year-old Babe Ruth World Series Aug. 9-17
The Glen Allen Youth Athletic Association and Henrico County are hosting the 13-year-old Babe Ruth League World Series at RF&P Park and Glen Allen High School Aug. 9-17. It’s the third consecutive year in which Glen Allen has hosted the event and the seventh time since 2007. Click here to read more
