Error 404: Teachers not found
More than 400 Henrico teachers were absent on Thursday, the first day back to school after an extended winter break.
The 404 teacher absences equal about 9% of HCPS’ 4,502 teachers, and neighboring school divisions reported similar rates. Staffing shortages were expected due to the surge of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Richmond Raceway opening as COVID-19 community testing center Jan. 8
Richmond Raceway is re-opening as a COVID-19-related hub, but this time instead of offering vaccinations, it will provide testing opportunities.
The raceway is one of nine new community testing centers established throughout Virginia as part of a $5-million allocation announced Jan. 6 by Gov. Ralph Northam. (The state will seek reimbursement for those funds through federal authorities.)
