As Republicans celebrated an apparent sweep of all three statewide offices in Virginia early Wednesday morning, incumbent Democrats in three House of Delegates races involving Henrico breathed a sigh of relief after holding off their Republican challengers – and potentially a Republican majority in the House, too – thanks to absentee and early-voter ballots.
Republican Youngkin wins race to become Virginia’s next governor
Virginia elected a new governor Tuesday, concluding months of political campaigning in the state. The Associated Press called the race for Republican nominee Glenn Youngkin at 12:37 a.m. Wednesday morning, providing Republicans with their first statewide win since 2009.
