Alker wins Dominion Energy Charity Classic
Steven Alker closed with three birdies on the final four holes to win a highly competitive Dominion Energy Charity Classic golf tournament at The Country Club of Virginia’s James River Course in Henrico Oct. 23.
Alker, a 51-year-old native of New Zealand, has been dominant all year on the PGA Tour Champions (the PGA’s senior tour, for players 50 and older). He finished the regular season schedule in first place before claiming this weekend’s tournament – the first of three playoff events to conclude the tour’s season.
Sandston Library undergoing renovations
The Sandston Branch Library has closed until November as it undergoes a significant renovation project.
The library, which closed temporarily Sept. 12, already has witnessed the completion of the first phase of the refurbishment, with the addition of new lighting.
